All my major life endeavors are under the same umbrella (art), but in very different and colorful branches of the tree that never touch. So every time I venture down a new branch, the rugged dwellers emphasize “paying your dues” before you can fully realize the potential of the endeavor. I bought it. And for years failed to realize I’d already paid my dues and continue to. Living life…no, really living it every day for the past couple decades counts. It goes toward my pension as an artist.

So, no more. No more thinking I have to do silly, trite things to figure out who I am, or what I’m good at. Those things will continue…but only self-directed. The branches – like programming – that are of a completely different hue, will need more massaging; but, I refuse to do any traditional apprenticeship. Now to put this into practice.

I’ve been doing lots of work. Over the past few months, I got a decent idea of what ‘people’ like. I’m back to doing what I like. I’ll miss the nice comments, but I’ll smile more. Look over some of it here. Even with everything I just said, I still highly value making mistakes and constantly learning. I thrive on it. That never goes away. So enjoy my imperfections and I’ll enjoy yours.
